kneehab....
wanted to let you all know that my knee is making really good progress and stitches come out tomorrow evening, wehey! just need my hair around my knee to grow back and you'd never know.
i've been back at work since the bank holiday. i was going a little stir crazy after 6 days on my own......too much thinking is a little dangerous ; )
made it to the gym a couple of times last week, made me feel less of a hobbling hermit and picking up the pace this week, on the cycling machine today......saw sam tonight and he was really pleased with the knee movement and happy for me to cycle to work and even start on the cross trainer next week.....this has nothing to do with the little bicycle excursion in leuven on bruce's stag last weekend!....what goes on tour stays on tour, suffice to say that we survived spending time in a heavy metal rock bar dressed as trappist monks.....you'll have to ask bruce about what he was wearing!!
i've been lording it to work over the past week as chris very kindly lent me his range rover, it's an auto so made it easier to drive. however i'm back in my pick up, but at least i can listen to linkin park full blast again!
i'm heading down to the cottage on friday to pick up my bike before turning back down to north farm, near tunbridge wells, on sunday morning. i'm meeting patsy and zippy down there as they are running a training course, i'll essentially be doing my own thing, but with a little direction from the experts : ) sadly jago is unable to join, but it gives me a chance to increase my saddle time and test out the knee. can't wait = ))
i am also really excited about a very good friend of mine, flic, she's embarking on her own challenge this year, on june 12th she starts her 1000 mile bicycle journey from john o'groats to lands end and raising money and awareness for macmillan cancer care and paralympics. i think this is awesome and wish her and fellow cyclists the very best of luck! i will certainly be sponsoring her and i hope this inspires you to begin your own challenge and contribute too : )
you may have noticed that i have already started adding links to the charities i would like to support on my journey and will add flic's to the list. i hope that sharing my adventures through my blog and soon my video blog entries on you tube, will raise awareness and funds to these incredible charities.
more photos and videos to follow soon.
