things are getting really exciting now!!

yep, we're getting down to business in prep for dakar 2012.
decision was made to rebuild 2 x 2008 ktm 525cc rally bikes, as they performed so well in the past, they were very well constructed, the team know them inside and out, there is no separate oil for the gear box, aiding cooling and therefore minimising engine wear, and they are carborrated, no f'ing around with ecu's and laptops in the middle of the desert when the injectors foul up with sand or dirty fuel - if carbs are good enough for coma and despres, then they'r definitely good enough for jago and i!
- tony is busy re-building the 525cc engines, sleeving them down to 450cc engines.
- patsy has had the frames sandblasted and resprayed - check these before and after photos out
- patsy has also ordered our ohlin forks and shocks
- hopefully got a day working on the bikes this sunday
- jago has booked us into the cambrian rally on oct 15/16th
- flights are booked for our 5 day desert shake down in merzouga from oct 30th
- flights are booked for buenos aires on dec 24th
- lodgings in the way of a private residence 16km from mar del plata are reserved from dec 26th
there is a nasty rumour that a pre race party is being organised for dakargb, somewhere in london, with rally bikes, 6 wheeled pimped tatra trucks and load of muddy biker types, looking for somewhere for a few beers, a few laughs, a little bit of charity fund raising......don't believe in gossip!
2 frames before being sandblasted......
2 frames after being being sandblasted and re-sprayed in traditional desert rose racing colours, oh and ktm colours of course ; )
the team have been busy: frame and subframe, swing arm, rads with fans and bracket for all nav and safety equipment , whahoo!!
